Project Overview:
In 2024, the Nova Scotia Disc Golf Tour merged with other maritime tours to form the East Coast Disc Golf Tour (ECDGT). I was tasked with creating a full fledged brand identity for the tour, capturing their Atlantic identity while keeping an exciting sporting brand.

Building a Hole-In-One Brand Design
The ECDGT brand identity was created to fit a few needs. Firstly, to create a memorable logo. Secondly to reference maritime heritage. And thirdly, to be scaleable for use on different mediums, including the circular nature of discs, as well as the long and wide nature of flags and banners on-course.
Of that, the logo was created to have different sizes, a "Disc", a "Diamond", and a wordmark.
The colours are inspired by the ocean, working together against a brand wave brand pattern on merchandise, and bold fonts inspired by Atlantic industry, that also are close to the blocky nature of sports numbers.
The logo is also meant to work as a patch or stamp on merchandise, sewn into jerseys.
Team Kit & Merchandise
The jerseys for ECDGT are emblazoned with the wave pattern fading into dark blue, with light blue cuffs on the arm and neckline. The jersey leaves adequate space for sponsorship, while still having the ECDGT disc stamp be the main focal point of the design.
Trucker hats, branded tees, and more make up the first wave of ECDGT Merchandise.
The Brand in Action
Beyond the attire, the ECDGT brand will be most focused on their social media presence, in a mission to build brand recognition across the maritime provinces in preparation for their 2024 debut. This highlights the importance of not only creating a recognizable brand, but the creation of easy-to-understand brand guidelines for all usage cases.
Course signage is also going up, with sponsorship being blazoned on each course hole.
